It all started with a gift for a big birthday…

My Mother was turning 65 and we found ourselves in the same situation that most children, even adult children, face when buying gifts for their parents.

What do we get that person who wants and needs nothing for their birthday. 

We’ve all been in this situation, however, I was inspired to create something to show how much she is loved by our family, and so I set out to showcase just that. I started doing graphic design work way back in the 80’s, and have always had a passion for it, it’s another creative outlet, just like cooking. 

Determined to create a memorable gift, I was inspired to capture the faces of my two children into the word Love.  When I was finished, I had produced the very first Custom Art Collage for Little Astronaut Media, and it was a smash hit. Since then, we’ve expanded what we had started with by doing private commissions for people who loved the gift that I had made for my Mom.

This brings us to today, with the launch of Little Astronaut Media to the public, however, this company is about more than creating the perfect gift, with the fallout from COVID-19, it’s also about saving the way of life that I have enjoyed during my 30 year career as a Chef and Restauranteur.

Memphis Fire Barbeque Company Inc.

As we rang in the new year in January 2020, little did we know how much our lives would soon change.  At the start of the year, our family ran one of the busiest restaurants in our city of 500,000 people, one that had seen national TV on the Food Network, and had served over 1 million guests in the 10 years we had been open.  By spring, our dining room doors were closed due to COVID-19 and our lives forever changed. We have been blessed with the immense support of customers with our curbside take-out service, however, the damage done to the restaurant industry will take another lifetime to repair.

We have to do what we can to preserve our way of life, our profession and our people… By brining joy through creating gifts for you, we’re preserving our restaurant, our profession and increasing the quality of life for our entire restaurant family at Memphis Fire Barbeque Company.
